Municipal and Infrastructure design for our Council Bluffs Office for work in the Omaha metro and surrounding areas.
Following are major Characteristics that we are seeking:
Self-starter; able to work through project design with limited direction after initial training

  • P.E. or E.I. with desire to acquire P.E.
  • Design knowledge utilizing Civil 3D and/or MicroStation preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to prioritize efforts on multiple projects and meet project schedules

Microstation Design and Drafting Technician
Municipal and Infrastructure design and drafting for our Council Bluffs Office for work in the Omaha metro and surrounding areas.

  • 5-10 –years of experience as a design technician; OR
  • 2 year tech degree and commensurate experience
  • Detailed oriented and good communicator
  • Able to read and understand drafting standards, project plans, and project schedule
  • Prompt and able to work overtime when required due to project schedule
  • Experienced in Microsoft programs OUTLOOK, WORD and EXCEL
  • Strong experience with Microstation or AutoCAD required, Civil 3D experience preferred


Transportation Design Engineer
for our Council Bluffs Office.  Work would be mostly for the Iowa Department of Transportation, Counties and the Nebraska Department of Roads. Following are major Characteristics that we are seeking:

  • Self-starter; able to follow up with limited direction
  • 2-6 years of transportation related experience
  • P.E. or E.I. with desire to acquire P.E.
  • Design knowledge utilizing MicroStation/Geopak in a transportation format
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to prioritize efforts on multiple projects and meet project schedules

  • 2-4 years of transportation related experience
  • Strong communication, math and problem solving skills

  • Able to prioritize efforts on multiple projects and meet project schedule

Construction Observer / CADD Technician

  • 5-10 –years of experience as a construction observer on roadway projects; OR
  • 4 year degree in civil or construction engineer; OR
  • 2 year degree and commensurate experience
  • Detailed oriented and good communicator
  • Able to read and understand project plans, specifications and project schedule
  • Prompt and can work 8-12 hours/day and 5-6 days/week
  • Experienced in Microsoft programs WORD and EXCEL and Site Manager; Field Book and Doc Express programs a plus
  • Familiar with typical construction activities to include grading,
  • Daily outside activities to include daily diary, daily measurement of quantities, contractors request for information, field orders, change orders, contractors pay requests
  • Substantial completion and final inspection walk-thru and punch list
  • Daily coordination and interaction with general contractor and sub-contractors, owners personnel, Utility Companies, Project Management Team, design team, and materials testing personnel
  • CAD skills beneficial
  • Valid driver’s license required


Architectural CAD Tech.

HGM Associates has an immediate opening for a full time Architectural CAD Tech. HGM Associates provides a full array of Commercial Architectural, Engineering, Surveying and Landscape Architectural Services to the Midlands since 1960.
Duties Include:
     * Prepare drawings from sketches, notes, details and/or verbal instructions.
     * Prepare set of plans including floor plans, elevations, sections, detail schedules, etc.
     * Prepare 3D computer models from floor plans, elevations, and sections
     * Analyze information available to determine and plan best approach to develop and complete drawings.
     * May act in a project administration capacity at times. 
Skills/Qualifications:
     * Minimum two (2) year associate’s degree in engineering / drafting technology or related
     * 2+ years’ job experience preferred
     * Proficient in AutoCAD and Sketchup.  Revit experience preferred.
    * Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
    * Strong communication skills
    * Highly organized and detailed orientated.
    * Self-starter—work under minimum supervision
    * Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
    * Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Architectural Designer/Intern Architect
HGM Associates has an immediate opening for a full time Architectural Designer/Intern Architect.,  HGM Associates provides a full array of Commercial Architectural, Engineering, Surveying and Landscape Architecture Services to the Midlands since 1960. The Architecture Department provides a diverse commercial workload in facility types such as Educational, Fire Stations, Police Stations, Banks, City Operated Maintenance Buildings.
Duties Include:

     * Develop preliminary and design development scaled drawings for a project design.
     * Prepare design details and building specifications 
     * Prepare contract documents suitable for submission to approving governmental agencies and bidding contractors.
     * Coordinate the architectural drawings with all project engineering disciplines and their associated drawings.
     * Work directly with support staff in preparing drawings and specification documents.
     * Conduct periodic on-site visits during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
Skills/Qualifications:
     * Candidate must have completed a 5-year professional degree or 6-year master’s program in Architecture and is working  
       toward licensure.
     * 3-5 years job experience preferred
